Thomas Ingersoll Scenic Trail

About the trail

  • The Thomas Ingersoll Scenic Trail begins at the Ingersoll Cheese Factory Museum and Sports Hall of Fame in Centennial Park. It crosses a small creek and then passes the Ingersoll Creative Arts Centre.
  • Continue along the paved path and you will see the Victoria Park Community Centre.
  • Cross Wellington Street to Smith Pond park.
  • The paved pathway contiues to Canterbury Street.
  • After crossing Canterbury you will be on the Memorial Park trail. This trail meanders beside the creek and you will soon come to a pedestrian bridge. The Canterbury Folk Festival is held here in late June.
  • Cross the bridge and contunue on the paved path to King Street
  • Cross at the pedestrian walkway to Water Street. In mid block you will find yourself behind the Gazebo on Thames Street. Enjoy a great variety of local shopping while you explore the downtown area.

    For a varied walking experience, you also have the option of continuing down Charles St to Wonham St. Turn right - cross the tracks – left at the Pipe Band Hall and enter Lawson Trail.

    Lawson trail is an unpaved park that goes along the Thames River. and will loop back to the starting point or you may opt to leave at the far end of the trail which brings you out to Ingersoll Machine and Tool.
    From there you may walk back on King St
